Goodwill Academy: Stagehand Fundamentals & Arena Rigging prepares students to become the data-verified technical backbone of live events and modern film productions.
This hands-on program develops essential skills for working safely behind the scenes in Las Vegas theaters, concert venues, corporate events, and active film sets. Students receive practical training in:
Rigging & Safety: Ropes, pulleys, hoists, heavy venue rigging, and safe equipment handling
Lighting & Sound Systems: Power distribution, lighting protocols, professional rigs, and digital audio infrastructure
Backstage & Set Etiquette: Team coordination, call sheets, communication protocols, and production compliance
Union Pathways: Career orientation and guidance toward IATSE Local 720 and other regional entertainment unions
Applied Venue Labs: Real-world training with industry-standard equipment used across Las Vegas venues
Graduates may pursue roles such as certified stagehand, corporate event crew member, production grip, rigging technician, lighting operator, audio assistant, studio production assistant, or union pipeline candidate.
Entry-level opportunities in the Las Vegas market commonly range from $18–$25 per hour, while experienced specialized technicians may earn $35–$48+ per hour. Top production engineers and entertainment leads can reach annual earnings of approximately $72,000–$95,000+.
